The Canon Digital Powershot is a pocket sized digicam that’s capable of taking high quality pictures. There are a few different cameras in the Powershot line, with pixellage ranging anywhere from four to 12 mega pixels.
For example, the digital Elph is a budget minded middle of the line option that takes colourful photos at 10 megapixels and has a 3x optical zoom. The Powershot SX20 shoots HD movies, has a twenty x optical zoom and 12.1 megapixels.
Pocket digitals are great because they are versatile and can be carried anywhere, tucked into a purse or a pocket, with no heavy equipment to lug around. The small digitals are so advanced now that they nearly all feature image stabilization for low light circumstances, an HD camera within with sound, and different shooting modes.
The cameras also have enormous, colourful LCD screens of about 2.5 inches, and the Canon DIGIC four image processor, which uses face detection technology that tracks the moving faces until you’re prepared to shoot and then keeps them in perfect focus.
Qlmost all of the power shots also use perceptive contrast correction, which adjusts brights and darks in the pictures for a more balanced photograph. Red eye correction can be fixed in camera so the user does not need to use any post-image augmenting software.
The zooms in the camera are pretty dynamic but they do get grainy and unfocused at really high zoom settings. And Canon series often averages at a couple of hundred bucks in price, so those on the cheap can also enjoy the ability to take professional level images.
With adjustments like ISO and speed settings, and contrast, the user can also change settings in the camera to edit photos. This makes it simpler to have an image that may go straight from the camera to printing.
